Ubisoft to Reveal More Skull and Bones Gameplay This Week

A day after delaying Skull and Bones for the sixth time, Ubisoft has provided a small update on the upcoming pirate game.

On Twitter, the Skull and Bones account shared some more information about the delay, and revealed that fans can expect to see new gameplay this week. The message read in part, "This extra time will help us in providing further polish and balancing to our game experience, following your feedback from previous tests."

While the team takes some extra time to polish the game, Skull and Bones will start sharing new and exclusive gameplay on its social channels. Tomorrow, we'll get a look at "new and exclusive gameplay footage focused on our game's lore." Previous Skull and Bones showcases have given us looks at how exploration works, ship customization, pirate lairs, and more.

The development team's message didn't suggest a new release date, other than that the team plans to share more information about the launch and upcoming test phases "very soon".

Skull and Bones was set for a March 9 release before yesterday's delay. The new target is Ubisoft's "early 2023-24" fiscal year, which begins in April. Ubisoft also canceled three unannounced projects, as the company looks to focus on fewer games going forward to reduce costs in the coming year.
