Rockstar Fixes GTA Online Account Migration Problem

Players unable to migrate their GTA Online characters to next-gen consoles are now able to.

Rockstar announced on Twitter (below) that save migration is now working as intended just a few hours after it acknowledged the issue.

Early during the launch period users playing on the newly released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of GTA V were unable to transfer their characters from previous generation consoles if they'd already done so to PC. This issue has now been resolved.

The PS5 and Xbox Series versions include much faster loading times, new graphics modes, and a number of other performance upgrades including "increased population and traffic variety, increased vegetation density, improved lighting quality across shadows, water reflections, and other elements."

While users won't be given a free upgrade to GTA V as it arrives on its third generation of consoles, Rockstar announced last week that a special price-point will be available for the first three months.

On PS5, standalone GTA Online is free for that period while the complete GTA V package is 75% off at $9.99 USD / £8.75 / $14.99 AUD. On Xbox Series, meanwhile, GTA Online costs $9.99 USD / £8.99 / $15.47 AUD and the full version is $19.99 USD / £17.49 / $29.97AUD.

After those three months, GTA V will return to its normal price of $39.99 USD / £34.99 / $59.95 AUD on all next-gen platforms.
