Hogwarts Legacy will be released in Holiday 2022.
Two years after it was first revealed to the world, Avalanche Software announced Hogwarts Legacy will be released this holiday.
Before the release window, Avalanche showed off nearly 20 minutes of gameplay that included all the various activities players can partake in their life as a wizarding student at Hogwarts. This includes wizard duals, raising magical creatures, and more.
The game has stirred up discussion over its connection to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, who has become notable in recent years for her transphobic comments. Warner Bros. has said the author is not directly involved with the game, but leadership has said "she's entitled to express her personal opinion". Reports have since suggested that the game will allow for transgender characters to be created.
